Today’s Text: Isaiah 54:4-8
Key Verse: Isaiah 54:8 (ESV): “”In overflowing anger for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord, your Redeemer.”

In a world full of broken dreams: when the truth is hard to find; when anger and bitterness is almost the air we breathe. For every promise that is kept, there are suspicions of motives and a lot that we do not desire. Our generation stands in the need of urgent help. Even our strengths are fast becoming weaknesses; and our inventions, our undoing. Otherwise, why should our technology of information be destroying us so fast? Something created to kick out ignorance and fear has now become our main enemy — perpetuating ignorance, promoting terrorism, and provoking panic the most. We fear pandemic whereas infodemic has killed more people — and we are all, unfortunately, behind its destructive trigger. Our situation looks so similar to the disconsolate and desolate of the entire text of Isaiah 54, whose desolation was self inflicted. Here we all are: so forlorn and helpless; but God has a word for us.
God uses the analogy of an unproductive woman to depict the unfruitful, wasteful and sterile situations of men in the plain of Kyrenia. He understands how grieved in the spirit people going through unproductive moments can be. In like manner, God sees how we have become turn apart against one another and have caused wastefulness and desolation of our own lands. He sees bloodletting and terror among us. He is aware of the fear of the future, of the unknown, and of signaling destruction that loom in every quarter. That is why He sends us this timely comfort so that we may be free from terror, fright, alarm, and panic. Though our sins and selfishness has brought us present uneasiness; yet, God wants to help us. He sends this words to alley our fears and strengthen our stakes. It is therefore the time for all of us to return to the Lord, humble ourselves, cry aloud for God’s help, and hold not back. He promised to take away our reproach and revisit us with an unending mercy.
Quote for the Day: “Turning our back on God brings pain on us; turning back to Him brings us hope and comfort." (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: O Lord, we are called by Your name l. We humble ourselves, and pray. We seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. Please remember Your promises Lord. Hear us from heaven and forgive our sin and heal our land, in Jesus' name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
