Today's Text: Habakkuk 3:17-19

Key Verse: Habakkuk 3:19 (NIV): "The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights."

Courage to stand is something we all seem to need during our planet's most trying days. But tell.me just where we can turn or look for courage. Thankfully, it us a recurring theme throughout the Bible. We have stories of numerous individuals who faced adversity with unwavering faith: their fortitude, rooted in an unshakeable trust in God. Courage comes from faith in God. It is the only sure thing that can enable us to overcome formidable obstacles and fulfill God's purposes. Just as a strong foundation allows a building to withstand storms, unwavering faith provides the courage to stand firm amidst life's challenges.

We see this courage in figures like Moses, who, despite his initial reluctance, bravely confronted Pharaoh and led the Israelites out of slavery. David, a young shepherd boy, demonstrated immense courage when he faced the Philistine giant Goliath, trusting solely in God's power. Esther, a Jewish woman who became queen of Persia, risked her life to expose a sinister plot to exterminate her people. Daniel, a prophet, refused to compromise his faith even when faced with imprisonment and death in the lion's den. The Apostle Paul, despite enduring imprisonment, shipwrecks, and relentless persecution, continued to preach the gospel with unwavering courage and steadfastness. These biblical examples with the ultimate example of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who demonstrated ultimate fortitude through his suffering and death on the cross for the sins of humanity serve as powerful reminders that true courage comes from a deep reliance on God's strength, enabling us to stand firm in our faith and overcome any adversity.

Action Steps: Identify an area in your life where you need to exercise more courage and rely on God's strength. Reflect on a biblical figure and our Lord who inspires you with their fortitude and consider how their example can guide your actions. Pray for God to strengthen you and grant you the courage to stand firm in your convictions, especially when facing challenges.

Quote for the Day: "True courage is strength to move forward in spite of fear and trouble." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the countless examples of courage in Your Word. Help me to cultivate unwavering faith and to stand firm in the face of adversity. Grant me the fortitude to live boldly for You, trusting in Your strength to overcome every challenge — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
