Crisis of Intimidation

Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, January 27, 2020

Today’s Text: Exodus 4:1-9

Key Verse: Exodus 4:1 (ESV): ”Then Moses answered, “But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you.’”

One of the crises of life a man must deal with in order not to miss God’s blessing in life is the crises of intimidation. There are weighty issues of life so bad enough to push us back at every juncture and level of life. God’s call upon Moses was a real mountain. It looks so insurmountable. Facing Egypt, at that time, was facing world’s most powerful nation. Israel has been in its subjection and servitude for four centuries, and no ray of hope seems humanly possible. God’s choice of a man like Moses makes matter worse still. He has no credentials or reputation to qualify him before Pharaoh or the people. That’s enough intimidation for a natural man.

However, to walk in God’s blessings and covenant, each man must first deal with all earthly crises of intimidation. Things are out there to push us back; but we’ve got all the divine backing to silent any voice no matter how loud. In today’s text, God demonstrates why Moses needed to be intimidated, yet through God’s sufficient grace, he overcame all the voices or forces of intimidation. This is your challenge to rise bodily by faith today, and push back anything that pushes you back. Do not be terrified by anything. God’s everlasting arms are always there to back anyone whom He chooses. Never get intimidated by men if God has chosen you.
