Dare to Be like Jesus Christ
Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Saturday, November 7, 2026
Today's Text: Hebrews 12:1-3
Key Verse: Hebrews 12:2 (KJV) — "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

We can be grateful for the writer of Hebrews for pointing us to Jesus Christ, the prime example, ultimate hero of faith, and the grand finale of our Dare to Be series. He was not merely a good teacher or a prophet. He was God made flesh, who left heaven, took on human form, and lived among us. He was born in a manger, raised in Nazareth, baptized in the Jordan, and anointed for ministry. When the time came, He set His face toward Jerusalem, knowing the cross was waiting. While others ran from pain, Jesus embraced the cross for the joy set before Him. His story teaches us that true faith is not proven by comfort, but by endurance. Dare to be like Jesus, who endured the cross and despised its shame for the joy set before Him!
Jesus teaches us that a life devoted to God is never wasted. Though He was despised, rejected, mocked, and betrayed, He chose obedience over comfort and love over revenge. He remained faithful when nobody was applauding Him. Today, many desire glory without suffering, influence without sacrifice, and celebration without the cross. Jesus reminds us that a life of public impact must be rooted in private surrender. He prayed in Gethsemane, wept over Jerusalem, and submitted to the Father's will. Never despise your hidden seasons of surrender; God sees your faithfulness. Dare to be like Jesus!
He teaches us to endure with expectation. Despite the pain of the cross, He kept His eyes on the joy set before Him. He saw beyond the nails to the souls who would be saved. He saw beyond the shame to the glory that would follow. Delay and suffering can make some people bitter, but they can make others more dependent on God. Never allow the weight of your trial to destroy the strength of your faith. God's answers may come through pain, but your responsibility is to remain spiritually focused. Do not become so discouraged by what has not happened that you become blind to what God is doing. Like Jesus, we must remain ready to endure to the end. Keep praying, trusting, and obeying. Dare to be like Jesus, who endured and finished His course!
This Savior did not keep His love to Himself. He gave His life for everyone who would believe. His sacrifice became salvation, and His suffering became a message of hope. Though He had all power, He remained useful in the Father's hands. He understood that revealing God carries the responsibility of giving Himself. You do not need a grand platform to reveal a great Savior. Your family, congregation, workplace, and community are places where your love can inspire hope. Do not allow your experiences of God's goodness to remain unspoken when others need encouragement. Jesus reminds us that genuine love for God should produce lives that point others to Him. Dare to be like Jesus, whose sacrifice became a message of hope to others! Share your testimony, encourage the weary, and point others to Christ. Dare to be like Jesus, whose cross became our crown!
Jesus' story reminds us that true greatness is measured by faithfulness, not fame. Though He had no earthly palace, no army, and no wealth, His example continues to inspire generations. He lived to reveal the Father, not Himself. His legacy was built through humility, obedience, sacrifice, and love. He did not seek to become the center of attention; He pointed people to the Father and gave Himself for the world. One day or moment of faith is great, but a lifetime of endurance builds a lasting testimony. Never underestimate the impact of a consistent life of faithfulness. May we be remembered not merely for what we accumulated, but for the Christ we revealed; not merely for how long we lived, but for how faithfully we served. Dare to be like Jesus, whose life of obedience still speaks today! May our lives likewise be remembered for our devotion to God and our impact on others. Dare to be like Jesus, whose faithfulness still speaks!
Action Steps: Spend time in prayer and worship today. Identify an area where you have been tempted to give up, and renew your trust in Him. Ask for strength to endure, then share a testimony of God's goodness with someone who needs encouragement. Never consider yourself too weak, too wounded, or too insignificant to follow Jesus. Look to Jesus, endure faithfully, and finish your course!
Quote for the Day: "A life fixed on Jesus will never be wasted; when the cross feels heavy, endurance becomes worship, suffering becomes seed, and a surrender becomes a lasting witness." — Simon Olatunji (#quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, our perfect example of faith, endurance, and love. Help me look unto Him in seasons of trial, despise shame, and endure for the joy set before me. Deliver me from discouragement and distraction. Let my life reveal Jesus and inspire others to seek You. May my obedience leave a lasting legacy for Your glory. In Jesus' most glorious name. Amen.
