Today’s Text: Galatians 3:10–14
Key Verse: Galatians 3:13 (ESV) — “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree’.”

Coming from the heart of Paul’s argument that righteousness and blessing do not come by law-keeping but by faith in Christ, the apostle warns that the law pronounces a curse on all who fail to continue in everything written in it, and then he unveils the reality of the gospel. Jesus Christ took that curse upon Himself at the cross so that His people might be redeemed. Of course, as humans we go through hardship and pain but not every hardship is a curse. This is because for us who are in Christ there is no condemning curse left to rule or define our life after Christ has dealt with it at Calvary.
The Apostle Paul is correcting believers who were tempted to return to legalism as a way of standing before God. In doing so, he points to the cross as the decisive act of liberation. Christ did not merely sympathize with our curse; He became a curse for us, taking upon Himself the judgment that belonged to us. Therefore, whatever cursed condition sin had brought into human life — condemnation, shame, separation, and bondage — has been broken for all who are in Christ Jesus.
This means that as a believer in Christ, you no longer live under any inherited sentence of doom, fear, or spiritual oppression. The cross of Christ is not only where forgiveness was purchased; it is also where curses were cancelled. When Jesus was made a curse for us, He carried the full weight of covenant judgment so that we could receive the blessing of redemption, the promise of the Spirit, and the freedom of sons (generic). If the Son has set you free, then no lingering curse has the right to own you.
Therefore, you must hold this truth very dearly, and refuse to interpret your life through the language of doom, fear, and fatalism. Christ’s deliverance is deeper than mere relief; it is legal, covenantal, and complete. The child of God may face trials, but cannot be possessed by condemnation. Walk in the confidence that the cross has answered every accusation and every curse has been broken by the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Action Steps: Today, renounce every fear that says your life is under a curse. Thank God that Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for you. Stand on the authority of the cross whenever guilt, shame, or spiritual intimidation rises against your peace. Declare your identity as one redeemed, blessed, and covered by the blood of Jesus.
Quote for the Day: “Christ dis not became a curse for us so that He may leave us to continue to live under any more curse. He redeemed us into His blessing.”— (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for becoming a curse for me and delivering me from every condemnation of the law. I receive the freedom, blessing, and covenant mercy that You purchased for me at the cross. Let every work of darkness, every fear of doom, and every voice of accusation be silenced in my life. Teach me to live as one fully redeemed by Your precious blood. In Jesus’ most glorious name. Amen.
