Text: Romans 12:1–2; Proverbs 3:5–6
Key Verse: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” — Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

Today’s threshing leads us into the sacred path of Discovering God’s Will, where the believer learns that divine direction is not first about a map, but about a surrendered heart. Paul’s appeal in Romans 12 comes after eleven chapters of rich gospel truth, showing that God’s will is not discovered by mere curiosity, but by consecration, worship, and renewed thinking. When we present our bodies as living sacrifices, we position ourselves to know what pleases God and what He has purposed for our lives.
The world presses us into its mold, but God calls us to transformation. Proverbs 3:5–6 teaches that trusting the Lord with all our heart and not leaning on our own understanding is the doorway to divine guidance. God’s will is often not revealed to the proud, the hurried, or the self-sufficient, but to the humble who are willing to obey before they fully understand. In Scripture, clarity often comes after surrender, and direction often follows devotion.
This means that discovering God’s will is less about chasing secret signs and more about walking closely with the Lord in prayer, Scripture, obedience, and wise counsel. God’s will is good, acceptable, and perfect, but it is usually unfolded step by step, not all at once. He guides the yielded heart, corrects the wandering heart, and strengthens the hesitant heart. When we stop demanding control and start trusting God’s wisdom, we begin to discern His path with peace.
What must we take home from this truth? You do not discover God’s will by insisting on your own way; you discover it by surrendering your way. Ask first whether your heart is available to God, because a yielded life hears Him more clearly than a restless one. While plans are important, obedience is more important, and trust is the bridge between confusion and clarity. The believer who abides in God’s presence will find that His will is never a trap, but a place of wisdom, purpose, and peace.
Action Steps: Today, present your plans, desires, and decisions to God in prayer. Ask Him to renew your mind and remove every motive that is driven by fear, pride, or impatience. Search the Scriptures for wisdom and wait patiently for divine direction. Obey the light you already have, and trust God to give more light as you walk with Him.
Quote for the Day: “You discover God’s will best when you surrender your will first.”— (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Lord, I surrender my heart, my plans, and my future to You. Renew my mind, align my desires with Your purpose, and lead me in the way I should go. Deliver me from confusion, self-will, and every voice that competes with Yours. Teach me to trust You fully and to walk in the good, acceptable, and perfect will You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ most glorious name. Amen.
