Today’s Text: Daniel 11:29-35
Key Verse: Daniel 11:32 (NKJV): “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

We are so blessed to belong to a generation of knowledge and information revolution. Everyone knows so much that regardless of the age, you can’t doubt anyone’s ability or knowledge anymore. However, it is one thing to know about our world’s economy, ecosystem, computers, fashion, music, construction, hairstyles, and even have mastery of our world and self; but unfortunately, most people, today, have unbelievably little or no knowledge of God.
Most people that I have met desire to do great things. And that is a good thing. God Himself expects His people to do great things. That is the idea of exploits in the text before us. However, the full import of this text is that we can only do exploits when we get to know God. If you would do God’s work or be a man of exploit in your life, you must have genuine knowledge of/encounter with God—not head or liturgical knowledge; but a firm grasp, experimental knowledge of the God’s sovereignty.
In the overall grasp of the text, Daniel clearly describes the apostasy of Israel—something nit different from our generation’s experience. Many turning away from knowing God. But there is a few identified by Daniel as “the people” who know their God. Upon these few men is a mark of a difference. They will be strong and do exploits. A new month is here, and it is high time we are firmly grafted into Jesus Christ. Genuine thirst to know God brings us to an end of ourselves — we give up our arguments; our religiosity, and truly embrace personal knowledge of Jesus with our whole heart. This is the beginning of exploits.
Quote for the Day: “Religion puts men before God; but faith reveals Him. Knowing God comes from personal thirst for Him.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, let me encounter You today, and let the scales and veils of religiosity and sensuality fall off my eyes. Give me the opportunity to truly and genuinely know You, submitting Al human arguments at Your feet— in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
