Eschew Unjust Dealings

Today’s Scripture Threshing for Monday, April 29, 2019

Today’s Text: Proverbs 11:1-13

Key Verses: Proverbs 11:3 (ESV): “The integrity of the upright guides them,

but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.”

This text reveals how much God detests dishonest dealings. We are cautioned to eschew unjust balance and embrace simple straightforwardness. God blesses and gives success to men (generic) of upright hearts. This is also true of us: none of us love to put up with dishonest people.

Two young engineers applied for the same position at a company. They both had the same qualifications. In order to determine who to hire, they were asked to take a test. Upon completion of the test, both men missed only one of the questions, which was the same question; but the manager was able to determine which applicant was dishonest. The first applicant put down ‘I don’t know’ on the missed question, while the other put down, ‘Neither do I.'” He was disappointed when the honest man was appointed. Do you seek good in life, and desire true happiness? God wants us to eschew unjust dealings. The way of a honest man is plain, but dishonest people walk in crooked path.

Prayer: Dear Lord, You love righteousness and detest unjust dealings. Help me to walk uprightly before you, and in all my relationships. Let men see my light and glorify my Father in heaven — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
