Today’s Text: Ezekiel 37:1–14
Key Verse: Ezekiel 37:3 — “And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord GOD, you know.’”

God often brings us to questions that feel impossible, not to shame our faith, but to stretch it into deeper trust. The valley of dry bones is not merely a picture of death or hopelessness; it is a testimony that the Lord specializes in what human sight calls hopeless. There are seasons when life asks staggering questions: Can this marriage live again? Can this calling breathe again? Can this weary heart hope again? Ezekiel did not answer from confidence in himself, but from confidence in God’s wisdom, and that is where faith begins.
The Lord’s command to prophesy to the bones teaches us that we have the right and responsiblity to speak God’s word into dead places of our lives. What looks scattered, silent, and beyond repair is still under His authority if we speak to it by faith, and His breath can gather what despair has broken apart. Just pause and notice what the order of the miracle teaches: bones came together, flesh appeared, yet there was still no breath until God spoke again. That is a sobering lesson for us—structure without spirit is not life, and activity without God’s breath is not revival.
Facing life’s staggering questions requires more than human explanation, preparation or explanation; it requires divine intervention. The same God who asked, “Can these bones live?” still answers by saying, “I will put my spirit in you that you may come to life.” Child of God, when you cannot trace the answer, trust the One who holds the answer. Your greatest hope is not that you can figure everything out, but that the Lord of the valley still speaks life.
Action Steps: Take time today to name the “dry bones” area in your life and bring it honestly before God. Speak Scripture over that situation instead of surrendering to despair. Obey the next thing God has told you to do, even if you do not yet see the full outcome. Protect a daily rhythm of prayer and the Word so you remain sensitive to His breath.
Quote for the Day: “Where human strength ends, divine breath begins.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Lord God, when I stand before questions too heavy for me, teach me to trust Your wisdom. Breathe upon every dry place in my life, and let Your Word bring order, life, and hope. Restore what has died, revive what has grown weary, and fill me with Your Spirit. Let my life testify that You alone can make bones live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
