Faith Works

Updated: Jan 26, 2024

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, January 25, 2024

Today’s Text: Mark 9:14-29

Key Verse: Mark 9:23 (ESV): "If I can? Jesus asked. Anything is possible if you have faith.”

We must understand that faith is not something tangible to be taken like we take in medicine. Many would rather have it so, or interpret it as such. But no! It is an attitude of trusting and believing. When we believe in God, we are positioned for limitless field of possibilities. It's almost a miracle itself to be able to live a life of faith. Why? Because faith opens us to veritable supernatural resources that (i.e., faith itself, or our ability to believe) may be seen as a gift from God.

No matter how small out faith is, it is capable of causing unimaginable release of divine possibilities; and no matter how much our faith is, we still can never reach the point of being self-sufficient. Therefore, faith teaches us continued total dependent on God. It isnot stored away like money in the bank, yieldinggreat dividends in days if needs.

Growing in faith is our utmost, it is possible, and a divine enablement. In Luke 17:5, the apostles entreated the Lord to increase their faith. "Increase our faith!" They said. We too can grow in this constant process of daily renewing our trust in Jesus. When we do, we would face any difficult situations and resolve them through prayer. We have all geard and said that praver is the key that unlocksfaith in our lives. Effective prayer needs both an attitude of complete dependence and an action that dhows we fully trust God abd rely on Him as humbly as we could possibly be. You too can invite God to fill you with faith and power.

Quote for the Day: “There is no substitute to prayer: no circumstance is too difficult that faith loses its efficacy, and no mountain is to high that it is unsurmountable by faith." — Simon Olatunji

Prayer: Dear Lord and Father, I thank You for sending Your Son to die for me, and for the opportunity to grow daily in my faith in You. Lord, my desire today is that you will increase my faith and strengthen my trust in Your power and grace — in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
