Go in the Strength You Have (Part One)

Daily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, May 11, 2021

Today’s Text: Judges 6:11-24

Key Verse: Judges 6:14 (HCSB) — “The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you?"

Whereas God made us and sees us as mighty men of valor, we don’t usually know our might. We are mostly as much unknown to ourselves as we are unknown to our world or generation. Like Gideon’s, our valor, though real, has been un-deployed. We live, walk and hold our being in true and active valor, but we let it lay dormant and latent. Possibly like Gideon, we are looking for exterior or external strength. We look out for others though God is looking out for us. We keep our mighty valor un-exercised under our robe.

Today’s text reveals the power of faith. Except through the eye of faith, we have no idea of who we are or what we should be. We are all unknown and undiscovered until we face those life Medians that subject us to trials. There is no great believer that is not made through great trials. For it is out of those moments that we discover our strength. Regardless of what you are going through, never despise your strength in Christ. There is undiscovered valor in you. But would you let God help you today like the angel helped Gideon to discover his secret strength?

Prayer: Dear Lord, please keep me close as I step out in faith. Help me discover your will for my life and the strength available for me when I feel weak and afraid. Never let fear rob me of my peace, confidence, and courage, in Jesus' name. Amen.
