God’s Faithfulness and Mercy

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Saturday, July 11, 2026

Today’s Text: Psalm 89:24–26

Key Verse: Psalm 89:24 (ESV) — “My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted.”

I woke up two days ago to a most refreshing soul lifting scripture posted by Pastor Doris. It was a graceful reminder to the faithful promise of God and His mercies. The text today was presented to remind us that by His faithfulness, God keeps every promise He has spoken, and by His mercy He always gives more than we ever deserved. He does not merely meet us with precision; He meets us with compassion, covering our failures while establishing our lives in His favor.

In this text, the Lord declares that His faithfulness and mercy shall be with His servant. This is the assurance of a God who never forgets His word and never abandons those who trust Him. His faithfulness secures what He has promised, and His mercy supplies what our weakness could never earn. The Lord also says, “In my name shall his horn be exalted.” That means He gives power, honor, and victory by His own favor and help.

When God lifts a person, no opposition can ultimately keep that person down, for divine promotion is rooted in divine commitment. He further says, “I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.” This speaks of expanded influence, extended reach, and established dominion. God is able to enlarge a person’s territory and strengthen their work beyond what natural ability could achieve.

Then comes one of the sweetest promises of the passage: “He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father.” True faith does not only admire God from a distance; it comes near in confident dependence. The heart that knows God’s mercy learns to call Him Father, trusting Him for every supply, every correction, and every help.

Child of God, rest today in this double assurance: the Lord is faithful to His promises, and merciful beyond your failures. What He has spoken, He will fulfill; and what He has not promised, He may still grant by His grace. Let your soul lean on His faithfulness, and let your heart rejoice in His mercy.

Action Steps: Recall one promise of God you need to trust again today. Thank Him for one mercy you did not deserve but received anyway. Approach Him in prayer as Father, bringing your needs with confidence and surrender.

Quote for the Day: “God’s faithfulness keeps His word alive; His mercy keeps His children from despair.” — Simon Olatunji #quotablequote

Let Us Pray: Faithful and merciful Father, I thank You because You never fail in what You promise, and You are kinder than I deserve. Let Your faithfulness steady my heart and Your mercy cover my life. Exalt my horn in Your name, enlarge my steps, and teach me to cry to You as Father with trust, reverence, and joy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
