Today’s Text: Luke 5:1-11
Key Verses: Luke 5:4 (KJV) — “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

If used carefully and in context, this passage can be an amazing message of hope and encouragement to anyone struggling in any given hopeless situation. However, when placed in proper spiritual perspective, it is particularly a message of encouragement to all God's workmen, male or female, who are saddled with responsibilities in the kingdom of God; especially those faithful folks who are getting discourged because their success story does not seem to match their hope, expectation and desire. It’s a zone where you feel like laying down the net, not letting it down. But today, the Lord says, no, don’t lay it down, let it down.
One way or the other, every faithful servant of God is a successful servant. Faithfulness is the kingdom yardstick to success. But we all go through that season in which we toil all the night, and have nothing to show for it. Many weary Christian workers, leaders, pastors, and missionaries, like you have gone through weeks, months, and years, with little or nothing to show for all their hard labor. I’ve personally been at this zone, and I know it hurts. I have seen disappointment. I have been on the verge of lessened hope. But I have seen the Lord come through for me just before I wash the net. But the heart of this message is obedience. Each of us must learn to heed the counsel of Christ. You don’t except He says to try a deeper water; or a different one.
Quote for the Day: "God’s true servants don’t give up the waters; no, rather, they are ready to lunch to deeper ones at the Lord’s command.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Father, take me to the place where deep calls unto deep—the place where the great catch is, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
