Today’s Text: Luke 9:37-62
Key Verses: Luke 9:44 (KJV) — “Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.”

How you ever been in a position or situation when you wished people could only come into understanding of just what you were going through; or sometimes what you are saying? Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the days of His humanity was there. He had spoken loud and clear enough to His disciples about His suffering and sacrifice. He spoke in understanding. He used parables and explained the parables. He took every opportunity including a most likely one such as this: a man came seeking healing for only child; and it was another time to lessen the ignorance of His disciples; yet they all seemed too forlorn to understand the mysteries He shared. Well, let us not blame them just yet. In reality, it is beyond the scope of human belief that someone would die for his friends and foes. It is a concept so incredible, and did not agree with the disciples notions; and may be not with ours.
Our Lord wants us to mature our faith in such a way as to receive spiritual truth as a little child would receive his father's truth. He sets the metaphor of a child before them to teach trust, simplicity and humility. The truth applies to today’s believers as well. Each of us must come to the point of allowing God's truth to sink down in our hearts. The miracles that He performed, the testimonies of the people, and all that He had told them hitherto represent the sayings that needed to sink. People had seen diverse miracles, and had praised God, acknowledging Him as the Christ; but except these sink, would they still do so if they watched Him arrested, tried and killed? Except our confession of Christ sinks down to the core of the heart, life's confusing crises can so easily carry us off our feet.
Quote for the Day: "What Christ has said; what He is saying; what He shall say must have entrance not just into our ears, but more importantly, into our hearts.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, my heartcry today and always is for Your word to dwell in me richly in all wisdom so that I can be thankful in whatever comes, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
