Today’s Text: Acts 16:32-40
Key Verses: Acts 16:37 (KJV) — “But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.”

It is one thing to live right; and completely another thing to know your right. And a Christian must pay attention to both. As long as we are in this flesh, it is so very easy to be wrong and wronged. But believers are not excusable to falter on excuses of ignorance; especially when all eyes are set upon us. We must take care that we have clean hands. We must make sure we are not in any position to be at the mercy of men. David's preferred to fall into the hands of God than this if men because he knows that while God is merciful as forgives, men do not, or will not.
We have a lesson from Paul and his brethren today. They found themselves in a situation in which their lives were censured indiscriminately. But friends, there is no other permissible position for the believers that innocence. We are never to be at the mercies of men. Rather, where we must strive to be is at liberty. Liberty to speak the word if God with confidence; to reprove, rebuke, and exhort according to Romans 2:16-23; and liberty to peak the truth in love. No believer can ever have an upper hand when his dealings in the world are already underhanded.
Apostle Paul was able to take his place and claim his right as a Roman citizen because his hands were clean; and not just his, but the hands if all the men with him. They all knew the reserve the right of exemption from degrading punishment. As a Christian you too have some covenant rights both here on earth and in he kingdom; and those rights are often lost when we can not walk in keeping with our profession of fath. Or how shall you be able to defend yourself like Paul if you already soiled your hands before the hypocrites of the law.
Quote for the Day: “Believers are only at are at liberty under the law of life in Christ; not under indulgence to the laws of sin.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Father in Heaven, please help me to be a light for You in this world, and to live blameless in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
