Today’s Text: Romans 14: 1-12
Key Verses: Romans 14:3 (KJV) — “Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.”

We all seem to be tending more and more, but unconsciously towards a vindictive lifestyle. Today’s society is becoming more or less a “we against them” kind of a world. Our political atmosphere is even worse in this regard. It is almost always: if you are not with us, then you ate against. And whatever the other side does; our side always pick holes. This situation is widening the gap of class in which the strong despise the weak and the weak judge the strong. The devil plays so smart in this game that he so easily divide the church on every slightest occasion — be it politics, spirituality or denominationality.
Wether you view it from the American story of present political demonization, or African politics of bitterness, or you even consider the church’s present denominational divisiveness; the text still speaks up clearly against all cases of contempt. Let us therefore, quit the narrowness of the mind that judges others different than us. As long as we are on this side of eternity, there will always be differences of opinion; but we must strive to maintain the unity of the spirit and eschew striving with words and judging one another. When we are out looking for the falls of others, aren’t we usurping the place of God?
Quote for the Day: “We despise or judge other people for what we ourselves are already guilty of. We enjoy holding people in contempt when what feel right.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I stand for light; and refuse to allow the devil and any appearance of darkness to control my thoughts anymore, in Jesus' name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
