Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, November 23, 2020
Today’s Text: 1 Corinthians 5:1-13
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV) — “Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

Is our whole life in union with Christ not a complete Passover feast? Are we not perpetually and continually being delivered from the slavery to sin, the flesh and the devil? And if so, are we going to trade the solemnity, liberty and the glory of such continual escape (from darkness) for anything? Or, rather going to embrace this apostolic invitation to continue to maintain the feast? Apostle Paul, in today’s text, is inviting Christians to a memorial of our spiritual emancipation from Egypt of sin and darkness.
As believers in Jesus Christ, let us make our daily spiritual journey a type of Jewish feast of atonement, of pirifocation, of light, and of truth. We are under a covenant of continued sanctification. We are the true consecrated Israel of God. The Church which Jesus Christ purchased with His most precious blood walks in eternal feast of Anuka, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot (or Feast of Tabernacles) and Gedaliah. To keep our feasts, we must give up and do away with all pollutions of idolatry and viceful spirits. We must keep the fellowship of the spirit, and walk as becoming the children of the Light. Our lives must give no respect to anything defiling, corrupt, and impure. Tat is how we keep the feast.
Quote for the Day: “The life of Christ takes away all the old leaves and presents us unbeatened and fit for the feast.”
Prayer: Dear Father, help me to walk worthy of our calling, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
