Today’s Text: 1 Corinthians 16:19-24
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 16:22 (KJV) — “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.”

The particularity of the Christian claim that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the same and coeternal with God also stresses an exclusive claim that He is the only Savior of the world. Therefore, no one who rejects Him shall neither have peace with God not have everlasting life. The gospel message is so clear about that! The gospel is also clear about the fact that there are those who, not having known Christ, have had no opportunity of receiving or loving Him. However, the premise of today’s meditation is that: concerning those who have heard the gospel of Christ, or have read of Him, demonstrates a failed test of character. They fall short in their feeling with regard to Him. This is what the apostle describes as a lack of love for Christ.
The God who loves the world so much that gave His only Begotten Son could tolerate no indifference or neutrality to His sacrifice. The manner and extent of Christ’s sacrifice does not just call for some respect, but it is befitting for Him to be loved. And herein is the judgement: a rejection of Christ’s love and person is a revelation of hatred toward God; a manifestation of man’s insensible nature to all that is good and Divine, and an affirmation of inherent burden of condemnation, curse and misery. All these must be in the mind of Paul when he concluded that anyone who does not love Christ then, now and ever is Anathema Maranatha, a term used to depict that they are being denounced as accursed.
Quote for the Day: “God’s love does not compel itself upon the human choice; but it constrains our sensibility to His infinite compassion.”
Prayer: Dear Father, let there be no time You will not grant Your compassion unto us. Also help us that we may reach all the souls in error! Save the erring ones by the conquering power of Your Love, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
