Today’s Text: 1 Timothy 3:1-13
Key Verses: 1 Timothy 3:10 (KJV) — “And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.”

A father who returned home from work one evening and found his little girl soiled in the mud said: “Daughter, you’re pretty dirty.” And in her childish way she replied, “Yes, I know daddy, but I’m prettier clean.”
Of course, we are all prettier when we are clean. As Christian, we are prettier in God’s eyes when we are clean and blameless. A blameless life is what we are called to live even when we think it is impossible. Regardless of the office, calling or hierarchy, the church has received a solemn and most precious assignment as the guardian and custodian of Chris's most veritable treasure of truth. It has please Him (Christ) to make Himself and the wealth and mystery of His eternal glory known on earth throughout. Paul describes this reality as Christ’s Hope of glory indwelling us in Colosians 1:27. As such, Christian’s must hold the life of Christ and heir lives in union with Him dearly and highly in high regard.
With this understanding, the Apostle is urging us to know that whether we desire the office of a bishop or that of a deacon, that desire is not something selfish, sensual or secular; it is not a desire for a good office, profit or benefit. It is not a desire forgain or glory. It is not for easy or busy life; but it is a desire for work -- a good one. It is work in the sense of duty as well as the obligation to live worthy of the calling. Therefore, let them also be blameless is a command that we can never ignore. This theme has been consistent throughout Scriptures. When the LORD appeared to Abram, He told him to "walk before Me and be blameless.” (Genesis 17:1) Thousands of years down the history, the same message remains just as relevant: blameless life demonstrates relationship with God. It shows our love and commitment to Him.
Quote for the Day: ”For every Christian, blameless life demonstrates relationship with God. It shows our love and commitment to Him.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord, give us the courage to face each new day with all its challenges. Remind us that you are greater than our perception of who you are, and in all things, you prevail, in Jesus name. Amen.
