Today’s Text: Hebrews 4:14-16
Key Verses: Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) — “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

From the very day in which man fell in the Garden of Eden, his greatest need has been mercy. Every sinner requires mercy; but unfortunately, we naturally have no claim to God's mercy. We need so much blessings, grace and favor, but have no ground of merit because of sin. We fall short of God's glory, forfeited His favor, and deserve His wrath. We stands in need of help: we cannot deliver ourselves from the dying body. We stands in need of a Savior who will free us from the sentence of death. We stands in need of mercy so we may not perish but have eternal life. And thanks be to God who loves us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins, and give us eternal life with God. His (Christ's) sacrifice has made God's mercy accessible to us. And it is on this ground that our need of/for mercy was ultimately and lavishly supplied.
That is what the “therefore” in today's key verse is there for: it's like a jolting call from the apostle to indicate we have nothing we are waiting for! Already, we are in need of mercy, and have no ground or means for it; but God has made a way for us to receive it freely. By His atonement, Jesus Christ has graciously given us access to His Father’s throne where He bestows inexhaustible mercy and grace to those who receive Him. We have no more need to cower to/in His presence. Therefore, let us overcome ourselves. Let us put our past and fears behind; with every limitations that disincline us; and come boldly to God's throne. He (God) delights in giving grace; let us not shy away from obtaining it. We have no more reason or excuses for remaining in need for mercy when God has freely given all the ample means to draw near with boldness to His throne of grace. Why deny yourself of the freedom and confidence of access?! Come on, shake off that beast and come bodly, now!
Quote for the Day: ”The problem with rejecting God’s open provision of, and invitation to, grace is horrible: it passes a sinner from God's throne of grace to His throne of judgement.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for such an immense privilege for being able to speak to God, the creator of the universe, as my Father, and come boldly to Him through Jesus Christ and in Jesus name. Amen.
