God’s “Let” Diary (Part 193) — Let Brotherly Love Continue

Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, January 23, 2021

Today’s Text: Hebrews 13:1-3

Key Verses: Hebrews 13:1 (KJV) — “Let brotherly love continue.”

Christianity is not just oriented to victory; yes, there is no more doubt that we are victorious in Christ Jesus; but our spiritual life is more oriented to virtue than anything else. There is a life expected of a believer. There is a standard set by Jesus Christ by which all men may know that we are His disciples: it is in the fact that we have love one for another. In the days of Christ, followers of great Teachers and Rabbis had their distinctive marks. The distinctive mark which all men should readily perceive of Christ’s followers is not power and anointing as some may prefer. It is love.

In the Christian race, there will be diversity of opinion, color and class; we will be different. We will be gifted differently. We will look at things from different standpoints and arrive at different conclusions. There will be diversity of in the way the Master gifts us: to one man He gives five talents, to another two, and to another one. But nothing must tamper with our holy affection. Nothing must blight our love for one another. Brotherly love must continue to be our hallmark. We must continue to be hospitable to all wether they be strangers, or those who of the household of faith. We must continue to show sympathy towards sufferers by remembering them that are in bonds, as though we are bound with them. Brotherly love must continue.
