God’s “Let” Diary (Part 24) — Let Us Bring The Ark Back

Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, July 4, 2020

Today’s Text: 1 Chronicles 13:1-6

Key Verses: 1 Chronicles 13:3 (HCSB): “Then let us bring back the ark of our God, for we did not inquire of Him in Saul's days.

Take the soul of a thing away, and what is left of it is carcass. At a point in Israel’s national life, the Ark, which was the soul of the tabernacle was neglected. They chose to go down to Gibeon to offer their sacrifices instead of paying attention to the ark. But David dared to be different. While power and position draw Saul, of course most modern day people away from God, David’s used his office to advance God’s cause. The spirit of this passage is simple: nothing should be more desirable to us than God’s presence, which is what the ark symbolizes.

One king, because of prosperity and power, failed to regard what was important to godliness and worship; but here, we find another, who preferred to honor God despite. He (David) commanded: let us bring back the ark. This is a call for revival of lost spiritual heritage; a challenge to retrace and return to the shifted ancient landmark. O how it would be a blessing today if God’s people can bring back genuine divine revival and take it with them. We may have been hard pressed and pushed back from our normal life, or we may dwell in the midst of plenty; but we can bring the ark with us.

It’s time to bring back the glory of the church and experience the blessing, favor, authority and power which are available to the church. It’s time to bring back in real time those inherited written signs and wonders. So that just as the ark foreshadows our covering (kapporeth), propitiation, expiation, the mercy seat, and the hovering glory of cherubs, God’s amazing presence shall be felt first in our daily lives, and then in our worship. The time has come for the restoration of passion and the extermination of fashion; for an abandonment of our supper room, and and a return to the upper room; for a revival of true worship; an acknowledgment of God’s supremacy; and for a reawakening of closer communion with God. Let us bring back the ark!

Quote for the Day: "It is better sign of true greatness when people show real concern and respect for the things of God.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Almighty God, please show Yourself mighty and strong with signs and wonders.Breathe your Holy Spirit on me and renew me for your glory, in Jesus name. Amen.

With all my love and prayer,
