Today’s Text: Song of Solomon 4:12-16
Key Verses: Song of Solomon 4:16 — “Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.”

It’s a new month brethren and from the bottom of my heart I pray it shall be a month of great manifestations, revelation and blessings for you in Jesus name. Amen.
We have an unusual scripture before us today. It is unusual because most people would flip past it for its ambiguity. The truth, however, is that as the Holy Spirit unveils the message and tears off the dark shrouds from our hearts, we cannot but give thanks for its notoriety. There are two divine motifs in this text: first, the inspired poet reminds us of the airs of affection and charm that true love invokes. If and when there’s true love in a relationship or fellowship, it blows upon the garden. Everyone enjoys refreshing peace. Show me a home or church where true love exists and I will tell you that’s an haven where souls are so blessed as favored garden filled with fruits of grace. This is an admonition to never have yourself or others reserved or denied of natural affection.
On the other hand, the church images love of God in the world. We are in fact, the bride of Christ. The influences of the Holy Spirit blows upon us and makes our garden fruitful. The church has enjoyed winds of God for ages of several dispensations of God’s moves. The world would have been a den or briers and thistles as a result of the Fall but for the graces that God blows on our souls which like spices makes it like a well watered garden. Did David not tell of how God makes us lie down beside still waters?! Like this poetic lover, the church must continue to love more and desire more. We must continue to cherish the graces and blessings of our union with Christ, who is the lover of our souls. We must give Him His garden — our hearts, our homes, our churches, our world. He is the desire of all ages; and we must continue to love Him. We must earnestly seek God’s continued north wind of conviction wherever we err, and His south wind of comfort whenever we hurt. As we begin a new month today, we must know that it is the love of God that stirs us up for good affections either for our spouses, or for our fellowship, and for the Lord Himself.
Quote for the Day: "Let us earnestly pray God’s continued north wind of conviction wherever we err, and His south wind of comfort whenever we hurt.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Gracious God, O teach us to walk in your love always. Let it spice up our world and make it a better garden, in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer, I wish you all an august and happy new month.
