Today’s Text: Daniel 10:1-21
Key Verses: Daniel 10:19 (KJV) — “And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.”
God’s children engage daily wars in the realm of the supernatural. Those wars sometimes wreck silent impacts, and sometimes manifest in physical oppositions and manipulation. Whatever they are, the main purpose of spiritual warfare is to crush us. In this text, the prince of the kingdom of Persia represents a spiritual reality that positions itself against the progress of Daniel’s prayer and prophetic ministry in the land. So that Daniel labored in prayer to the point of weakness until Michael one of the chief princes of heaven came to help and strengthen him. This spiritual encounter of prophet Daniel is a revelation to us that no matter the forces unleashed against us, we have access to superior authority. We are buffeted by the prince of earth, but we have the prince of heaven on our side. Michael was only a principal in the hierarchy of heaven’s hosts; but we have the Lord Jesus, the Great I Am, the very Commander of heavens’ army on our side.
Today’s princes of Persia are the supernatural forces behind all heretic outbursts, Islamic terrorism, national political manipulations, economic inequalities, civil unrests, sexual perverseness, blood-letting, resistance to truth, institutionalized racial brutalities, moral decadence, and any other thing that represents them. In the face of these, our knees seem to have been weakened like Daniel’s: because spirits of evil don’t only inspire worldly antichrist actions, but they conspire against genuine inspiration from, and revelation of Christ. That is why sometimes we are a blocked from realizing what on earth is going on. We pray and fast like Daniel but the clouds appear thick still. God is sending this word of strength to us today. Yes, you are a man, weak and feeble; but He says you are greatly beloved. Therefore, “fear not; peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.” He says. It is only when we are thus strengthened that we are spiritually active again to hear what the Spirit says to us. Be strengthened in the word of God daily: that is how you gain superiority over the princes, O yes, even over kings of Persia. That is how we win our battles. Therefore, be strengthened by this admonition and spread your arms again toward heaven. With deep eagerness, say: “let my Lord speak!” He shall yet utter His voice and the whole world shall melt.
Quote for the Day: "Spirits of evil don’t only inspire worldly antichrist actions, but they conspire against genuine inspiration from, and revelation of Christ.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, as I seek to hear You today, help me to confirm Your voice through Your Word. Give me victory over all spiritual blockages and help me to hear You clearly and consistently today and every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
