Today’s Text: Matthew 10:2-15
Key Verses: Matthew 10:13 (KJV) — “And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.”

Today is the 261st day of this highly eventful year. It also marks the 2014 Scottish independence referendum. But more important is that today, God has something special for each believer, that shall spur our spirit not just for the 104 days that remain until 2020 ends, but for a life time. One of my greatest point as a believer and minister of Jesus Christ is the fact that I am an asset and a blessing to my world, not a liability. Our Lord makes a big deal of this fact so much. He calls us the salt of the earth: without us earth is *tasked* and insipid. He says we are the light of the world: take us out, and all humanity is left to grope in palpable darkness. And then we have the keys of heaven. We even have rights to forgive sins. And then we are the bride of Christ. I think it is rather an act of share foolishness for anyone to chose to be anything but walk in the rights that Jesus bequeathed on us.
A child of God has so much going on, in and through him, for the kingdom; yet he is aware of so little or close to nothing. Otherwise, we’d never feel afraid or intimidated by those to whom we are sent. We are confident that the one who sent us is with us and is greater than the ones to whom we are sent. So, whenever or wherever we go, we are a blessing not a curse. We are giving every man a chance. We are dispelling their darkness and adding savor to their tasteless lives. So says our Lord by this text. The picture is: we are the Lord’s peace emissaries. We give out His peace to the world so that it now rests with each man whether he will take advantage of it or not. Why not rise up then, and draw up strength from this admonition, and in this spirit take your place?! Don’t you ever again let the look on their faces or the threats from their hates push you back. Anyone who receives you is blessed to have a savor of life; and if otherwise, of death. Of course, we are sorry for this; but not for ourselves nor for our assignment. “For we are Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20) But if a person fails to receive our appeal, we burn no fuse, we simply pass on to the ones who may.
Quote for the Day: "Peace, by its character, is brought to effect by acceptation or adaptation. Whoever rejects peace, shall in the face of it have war.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to come into full realization of who You are, who I am, and who You want me to be, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
