Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Thursday, October 2, 2025
Today's Text: Matthew 2:1-12
Key Verse: Matthew 2:2 (NKJV): "Saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.””

Some times or the other, we have all been at a crossroad or the other. We've experienced moments in which we are unsure of which path to take. Imagine yourself faced with challenges and uncertainties that bring you to a pivotal moment of decision. The Magi found themselves in a similar situation. They saw Christ's star in the east, a celestial sign they interpreted as the birth of a new King. Uncertain about the exact location, they began a long, arduous journey, guided initially by the light of that star and later by the Scriptures, setting their hearts on a new course.
This sets us an example while passing through life's uncertainties, transition, and divine encounter, or when our hearts are pathubed by quests that are unanswered, just as the Magi were guided by a celestial light to find the King, we are called to be guided by the Light of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. The key to following this light is simple: follow the light wherever He leads. In anotge biblical example, we found a profound instruction given by Christ's mother at the wedding in Cana if Galilee: "Whatever He says to you, do it." (John 2:5).
This is the essence of being truly guided. It requires a willingness to obey God’s Word—to act on His promptings even when the path seems unclear, just as the Magi continued their journey to Bethlehem. Unfortunately, the noise of doubt, fear, and self-will is robbing our generation of the blessing of this simple obedience. Being guided by the Light requires humility and a willingness to trust His directions completely. If and when more Christians commit to following Him by doing whatever He says, we shall be rightly guided, and begin to have a more profound impact on the world, becoming lights, ourselves, that lead others to Him.
Action Steps: Be intentional about studying the Scriptures daily to know what "He says" to you. This is the primary way His Light guides us today. Practice immediate obedience. When you sense the Holy Spirit prompting you to do something right, like forgiving someone or offering help, do it without delay. Pray for clarity, asking God to illuminate your path and help you filter out the distractions and doubts that cloud your judgment.
Quote for the Day: "True guidance is not merely seeing the Light, but walking by the Light with a heart fully committed to obedience." (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus, who is the Light of the world. Please help me to hear Your voice clearly and to live by the instruction, "Whatever He says to you, do it." Please bless my heart with a deep seated faith to trust Your guidance and give me the humility to walk in complete obedience, till my life fully becomes great light leading others to You—in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
