Life always comes with its highs and lows. Today we are down and tomorrow we are up. Our lives are filled with curves; and whether we like it or not, and regardless of who we are and what we do those lows just come. Today’s scripture charges us to brace up for the ever-recurring contrast that life brings. We feel disappointed by people. We are often discouraged by situations. We get hurt; we are hated and misjudged, mistreated and betrayed; but, yes, all these things work together for our good. They set us up for growth. The apostle refers to our body as "clay vessel.” Yes, that’s what we are; and that’s why we are strengthened and toughened by all the heat we go through.
In addition to the trouble of all people, the afflictions of the righteous are more. We are hated for the sake of Christ and persecuted for being different and better. But we can be grateful that though we suffer hate, they teach us the worth of God’s love. All mistreatment teach us self-care. Yes, the Bible tells us that all things work together for our good. The big picture is: though we are jostled amidst contending crowds and are hard pressed for space, these things are not strong enough to drive us into hopeless straits. God has promised to never leave nor forsake us. He is our present help in times of trouble. Therefore, don’t let your present situation get to you. You are more than conquerors through Christ. So, brace and rise up boldly with power today. Rejoice!
Quote for the Day: “Each day, the Christian mind is bombarded by new conflicts; each day he surmounts them all, and each day he is ready for newer battles.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me daily strength. Thank you for filling me with peace and joy in spite of all I face. Please renew my strength every passing moment so that I can continue to walk in daily victory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
