Today’s Text: 1 Kings 10:1-10
Key Verses: 1 Kings 10:4 (ESV): “And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built.”

America seats on a staggering $1.56 trillion in annual education debt from borrowers across all demographics and age groups. People pay fortunes to relate to knowledge; unfortunately, what is most important to man or our chief difficulty is not knowledge; but getting to apply and attend to instruction. Meanwhile, the only thing that helps mankind to apply and attend to instruction is wisdom. The Queen of Sheba knew the worth of wisdom; and she left her throne and dominion in pursuit of it. When she found it, she was happy to express her joy and pay great wealth, not in acquisition of it, but in appreciation or admiration of it.
The Bible tells us that to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). Paul had reached the height of Jewish learning; but also came to the realization that knowing and following Jesus was more powerful than all the knowledge, oratory and philosophy of the world. To him, attention to the words of Christ will guide the most ignorant into saving knowledge of the truth. Acknowledging Jesus as personal Lord and savior is an antitype of Sheba’s response. It leads to an understanding heart, and willingness to receive the truth in love. Yes, it leads to willingness to give up anything in admiration of Christ. True wisdom is valued above silver and gold.
Therefore, in the same manner in which the Queen of Sheba paid a great price for wisdom, all men may embrace God’s wisdom. However, the difference is the good news: We only have to come. But we do not have to pay. All we need to do is come to Jesus Christ, today: go after Him with open heart, hearing ear, understanding mind—and we shall be wise towards God. He (Jesus) is the wisdom of God. He has offered Himself freely to us as our Savior, Friend, and Guide. If, like Sheba, we go after Him and give Him our heart, we have the promise of abundant life with God forever.
Quote for the Day: “True wisdom results from knowing God. Acquiring it results from fervent prayer. For any believer who feels deficient in it may ask.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the richness of Your wisdom. Please, Lord, continue to nstruct me by it, train me in it, build me up through it — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my Love and Prayers,
