Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, April 14, 2025
Today's Text: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:3 (NIV): "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures."

The Apostle Paul wrote 1 Corinthians to address various issues within the Corinthian church. In chapter 15, he emphasizes the importance of Jesus' resurrection and its implications for Christian faith. The power of the cross and the essence of Christ's death by it is the reason the world call thus day that marks this spiritual reality Good Friday. This is because Christ's death and resurrection form the foundation for our faith as Christians. Remove this, and all our hopes for eternity sink at once. The gloom that occurred on that day that Jesus died brought humanity the highest good. It is by this truth firm, that we stand in the day of trial, and are kept faithful to God. It is by this truth that we believe that our faith and hope are not in vain.
By His death on the cross, Jesus paid the price for our sins. He offers us redemption and forgiveness (Romans 3:24). His death on the cross demonstrates God's love and sacrifice for humanity. It shows us the depth of His love, His victory over death, and the hope for eternal life that His death brings (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). There is transformative power in the cross: a power that changes lives and gives people new purpose and meaning. It us only proper and necessary that we all respond to Jesus' sacrifice on the cross by embracing repentance, faith, and a life dedicated to following His teachings, trusting in His atoning death, living a life that reflects His love and grace, and turning away from sin as a crucial part of responding to His sacrifice on the cross.
Action Steps: Reflect on the depth of God's love that is demonstrated through Jesus' sacrifice. Be a sharer of the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection with others. Live each day with purpose, knowing that you have been redeemed and forgiven through Jesus' sacrifice.
Quote for the Day: "Jesus' death on the cross is both a historical event and a demonstration of God's love and sacrifice for humanity, By it, we are offered redemption and forgiveness. Hallelujah!" (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Help us to understand the depth of Your love and to live each day with purpose, knowing that we have been redeemed and forgiven. Give us the courage to share the Gospel with others, highlighting the hope and redemption it offers — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
