Know Your Worth

Daily Scripture Threshing for Friday, April 16, 2021

Today’s Text: Matthew 10:24-33

Key Verse: Matthew 10:31 (NIV) — “So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. e says will happen, it will be done for him.”

Jesus is showing us here that, in the sight of God (i.e. in His own sight), there is nothing great or little. He has record of and regard for all things He created. He cares for the birds that fly, and for little plants and flowers. Imagine how numerous Sparrows are: as stars in heaven. Yet, not one of them is skips the memory and attention of God. He watches them build their nests, hatch their eggs and propagate their kinds. How much more are you worth before God, who intentionally created you in Hs own image; after His similitude. God knows your name my friend. He wants you to know your worth before Him, and in the world He created for you. That no one of these sparrows falls without God’s knowledge demonstrates how careful God is over each creature of His.

Friends, you are a special creature. God’s tender mercies are over you. You are special in His sight: and worth far more than you realized. Whenever an argument against your worth flies up in your heart; just know that the devil is only playing on your mind. He wants to impose fear and complex feelings that make you lose sight of who you are before God, and of what God has done for you. Jesus says you are of more value than many sparrows. He wants you to cast off your fears and put full confidence in Him. Be comforted and confident no matter the snares of fowler, or temptation and trials facing you. God holds you precious in His sight. Know this, please. Know your worth in Christ.

Prayer: Dear God, I thank you so much for your grace and mercy. Please help me to grasp the depth and perfection of your love for me. Lead me to confidence in you, and who you made me to be, in Jesus name. Amen.
