Today’s Text: Matthew 25:14-30
Key Verse: Matthew 25:30 (NLT): “Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Laws govern every aspect of our lives. Whether we are aware of them, understand and obey them or not, they are always there with consequences. And it is always an unwise thing to ignore them. In God’s word, we understand that our lives are also governed by some sort of spiritual laws at work in our lives—which if and when obeyed always leads to blessings and if ignored always leads to to consequences.
Most exploits, physical or spiritual, respond to obedience in our lives. Yesterday, we mediated on the law of increase as a precursor for exploit. Today’s focus is upon the law of use. As believers, we must apply spiritual laws to our daily lives. Each of us has been given certain amount of time, talent, and treasure to thrust into use, both for our personal good and for the profiting of the kingdom.
Failure to use God’s endowment well or at all is regarded as wickedness and abuse of God’s goodness. And while the use of God’s resources in our lives brings explosive results, failure to do so leads to condemnation. Brethren, there are three gifts spoken about by Jesus in Matthew 25; and our master has left us certain amount of grace, gifts and time, He will return sooner or later to reckon with us on how we used them.
Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:3 admonishes that God has already given us all things of his divine power which appertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who hath called us by his own proper glory; it therefore left for us to deploy His blessings into unselfish use as best we could for kingdom exploits and the blessing of others. Use makes our blade sharper. It makes our minds better. Hebrews 5:14 talks about how we, by reason of use have our senses trained to discern good and evil.
Quote for the Day: “Ever good farmer prunes, nurtures, waters and secures useful and productive crops for greater fruitfulness and seasons.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, You have given Your grace and blessings liberally, not because You love some more or less, or because You act capriciously, or there is inequality in You, but in Your wisdom of divine sovereignty; therefore, give me a heart that deploys all that You have given me into most profitable use for Your purpose and glory — in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
