Learning from Jabez (Part Two)

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Sunday, July 14, 2019

Our Text: 1 Chronicles 4:1-10

Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 4:9 (KJV): “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

Whether we are thinking in terms of the the sons of Coz or the entire lineage of Judah, the most remarkable person in this chapter is Jabez. And though the Bible maintains silence on what was accounted as his greater honor than his brethren’s; we can’t miss what accounted for it (the cause): He was a praying man.

If you have already been written off by your parents or generation; or your entire life look like a lopsided junk and achy; here is a posture of a man in the family album of Judah’s disjointed family tree, who modeled the way to turn a messy situation around and be truly great. No better way than to seek to do God's will and help with all earnestness. You can break the curse, change your story, dispel the darkness and push back fiercest frontier of satan when you ardently and affectionately seek God.

Quote for the Day: “The heart of a praying man connects and appeals heaven’s court, and over rules all earthly judgements.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, you changed the situation of Jabez, turn my situation around in Jesus name. Amen.

With all my love and prayer,
