Today’s Text: Acts 2:36-47
Key Verses: Acts 2:37 (ESV): “Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

During any age, generation or season how you know that there is revival among the people is in their spiritual emotions. Young and old, male and female, and great and small are alive and sensitive to God. Conviction for sins, repentance from them, and the urge for change of lifestyle is real and genuine. When this is not true, we should be concerned. Unfortunately, ours is a generation in which people are happy to claim spirituality and religiosity while they feel easy not only to walk away from God’s presence with untouched burdens of sin, but also with reckless disregard for holy things and word of God.
Today’s guide text reveals an attitude both essential to and evidential for revival. We may need to probe deeper within ourselves, and ask: When last did such phrase, “they were pricked in their heart” represent the atmosphere of our community of faith?! Where is godly sorrow and conviction for wrongdoing in our age? Where is that sharp, painful emotion that indicates genuine influence of the Spirit turning sinners attention away from carnal pettiness to a deeper spiritual connection with God? Where is the passion and desire for the pursuit of God with which the Church was born?
Quote for the Day: “It is never difficult to determine the presence of genuine divine revival; first it’s marked by deep love for God and in profound sensitivity to sin.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I know I am nothing without You. If I do any good today, it is due to Your grace alone, Lord. revive Your love within me and fill my heart, emotions and words with deeper love for You—in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
