Today’s Text: Acts 2:36-47
Key Verses: Acts 2:44 (NLT): “And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.”

We already know and see how much we dwell in a world so badly turned apart — a society intended by God for fellowship, sympathy and self-denial, but which has totally slipped into rivalry, self-interest, division and competition. What then will a true revival look like except in a return to the spontaneous energy of love that was already lost. When God showed up for the Early Church, the greatest evidence was not in tongue talking, prophecy, and administration of power; but in their excellent exemplary way of life and charity.
Let us take a careful look at this earliest revival in the church, we will see a clear connection between the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the responsiveness of the first Church to fellowship. This means that a better evidence of God’s power may be despised by many of us already. When we all mind the same thing, there will be orderliness and an easy atmosphere for the power of God to flow. Then other things, such as manifestations of generosity to the work of God and to one another will flow with ease. This will also result into much higher frequency of corporate gatherings for worship and prayer and in the willingness to receive the Word.
When God is present, a revival of an inimitable glow of love is sure. Yes, His presence is always marked by peace—a situation in which His people become beacon-light to a world so lost in selflessness and hate. The more sane and harmonious our communities of faith is, the better result we witness in conviction of sin, healings and signs and wonders, reception of the gift of the Holy Spirit. Even there will be greater generosity toward the work of God, and a natural attraction to people who are without. They
Quote for the Day: “In revival, God’s people experience greater love for one another that draws and bonds them in a more knitted way together so much that it attracts unbelievers to their community.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You today for reviving a new spirit in me today. I ask that You give me a refreshing, from Your Holy Spirit, that I may be quickened to be Your ambassador for change in this world—in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
