Mid Year Revival Cry (Part Nine): A Clear Vision of God’s Secrets

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, June 15, 2023

Today’s Text: Nahum 2: 3-13

Key Verses: Nahum 2:4 (ESV): “The chariots race madly through the streets; they rush to and fro through the squares; they gleam like torches; they dart like lightning.”

Looking through the prophetic outline of Habakkuk, we have, so far, seen a clear pattern for genuine revival. The Lord has shown us that for us to experience revival, an experience of God's presence is an important part. When a person experiences God, he is able to see through divine purpose and secrets. In the same way, today, our revival searchlights find prophet Nahum, another man regarded as minor prophet, who flourished during the reign of Hezekiah (B.C. 725-696), who also accurately predicted the fall of Nineveh.

Every prophet has two elements in the Bible, the Divine and the human. Revival fire is kindled when the human elements are subject to the divine. Men of old are of like passion as we are—having, like us, human elements to hinder the divine. However, the difference is: they were able to connect the channel of divine illumination, and were able to see through the mind of God more clearly. But we can find out how they possess such deeper sense God's Word? How can the text of Deuteronomy 29:29 also true about us, that: “secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law”?

Why are we unable to pass beyond the veil and catch such clear graphic picture that operates in such ultra high frequency which strikingly and perfectly catches the secrets of God? How did Nahum illustrate our present generation far back as one millennium before we he days of Christ? Going forward, we shall continue to explore how we too can experience such revival that made Nahum, though a minor prophet, to see this modern day ahead; how he saw our western streets far before the dark, the stone, medieval and modern ages; and saw our highways and motorways in which chariots (cars) races back and forth the streets with high speed and floodlights. No doubt, our generation needs to run back to God and cry to Him for a true revival rebirth.

Quote for the Day: “Religion enlightens the consciousness of people; but revival enlightens their conscience, and illuminates their spirit. To see through God’s secrets, people must pass from religion to revival.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please open up the channels of my spirit, and lead me to Your deep secrets—in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
