“Outpouring for Our Offsprings” (Part Two)

Today’s Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, May 29, 2019

Today’s Text: Joel 2:28-32

Key Verse: Joel 2:28 (ESV): “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.”

And high this world the devil fills, and threaten to undo us—our gracious God has agenda for us, and glorious plans for our children. The prophet Joel saw this far beforehand. Apostle Peter helps us understand Joel’s afterwards to refer to the last days, in which we are. But we can trust God for the fulfillment of of this most weighty promise.

God never abandons His own to suffer corruption. Though it seems that evil pervades the place. The systems of our days terrify us and look hopeless. Children are lovers of self rather than lovers of God; and I t no longer matter what you do provided you believe in it. However, God has a plan: He is pouring out gifts and influences of the Holy Spirit “upon all flesh,” without distinction of class, creed or color—as on the Day of Pentecost. Our children will love God, serve Him, and be oracles unto Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, cause your Spirit to fill our children. Fulfill your promise that “the earth shall be full of your knowledge.” Bless us with the unquestionable fulfillment of this promise, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
