Daily Scripture Threshing for Today — Wednesday, February 25, 2026
Today’s Text: 1 Peter 1:3–9
Key Verse: “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” — 1 Peter 1:7 (KJV)

The passage before us today was written by Apostle Peter to early Jewish Christians scattered across Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey), who were facing hardships for their faith in Jesus Christ.
Peter reminds them that their faith is being tested and refined like gold in fire, and this process, though painful, serves a greater purpose. The apostle, therefore, writes to encourage them to persevere, knowing their faith is precious to God and will ultimately lead to praise, honor, and glory when Jesus returns.
Every believer who truly walks with God will pass through seasons of fire. These are not meant to destroy you, but to develop you. Fire proves what is genuine; it removes impurities and strengthens what remains. Gold becomes purer through pressure, and so does faith. When God allows fiery trials, He is not punishing you—He is purifying you.
The fire you face is the forge of your future. Trials expose your foundation and refine your devotion. God uses heat to reveal hearts. Faith that is never tested will never be trusted. You may not understand the purpose of your pain, but you can trust the purity of God’s process. His fire shapes, polishes, and positions you for greater glory.
Refinement is never comfortable, but it is always constructive. The flame that feels like affliction is actually forming Christ’s reflection within you. When you emerge from the fire, you come out stronger, wiser, and more radiant with His presence. So, don’t fear the flame—embrace its purpose.
Action Step: Today, declare by faith: “Lord, refine me, don’t let me remain the same. Use the fire to form me, and let my life reflect Your glory.” Release your grip on comfort and hold fast to character.
Quote for the Day: “The fire that surrounds you is working for the glory within you.” — Simon Olatunji (#quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Father, thank You that every trial You allow serves a divine purpose. When I face the fire, help me to focus on You, not the flames. Burn away weakness, pride, and fear, until my faith shines pure and strong. Let my life bring You glory through every test—in Jesus’s name, Amen.
