Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, July 1, 2021

Today’s Text: Psalm 118:14-18

Key Verses: Psalm 118:15(NIV) “Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things.”

It's a new month, and the Lord has been so gracious toward us. We have been brought to the second half of the year. There has been a lot of ups and downs but, looking back, the Lord has been good to his promises and character. Today, as we transit to a brand new month: the month of July, which by it name means happy or merry, God'sword reminds us that believers and Christ are preconditioned for a lifestyle and an habitation of joy.

This has not been very funny. They do not promise to be different. But, by the hand of the Lord, God's people live in a sphere of resounding victory. The reason has been clearly stated: The Lord’s right hand. In other words, Christ is the believers’ song. N matter what life brings, the Lord is the main object of our hope and trust. And as long as this is true, we remain elated and joyed — and indeed, overjoyed. For the alone remains our reason and subject of praise and thanksgiving.

True faith sings in any season, good or bad; and even ought more to sing when we are in for a season of lifestyle victory. We are promised no defeat. That us why I am happy to welcome you to a season of gladsome newness this new month of July. I welcome you to a life of deliberate daily celebration of who Jesus is to us. Regardless of what times bring, or what life gives, we are honored to rely only on what the Lord's right hand has done, can do, is doing, and will do for us. That is our foundation, our food, our root, our raiment, our habitation, our countenance, and our reason for joy. Therefore, should we not sing, rejoice and shout for victory?

Prayer: O Lord Jesus, every good gift is given to us by Your hand. ... Help us to walk in the joy that you alone give. Grant us a willing spirit to cultivate the joy of your presence, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
