Sunshine

Daily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, September 21, 2021

Today’s Text: Exodus 3:1-5

Key Verse: Exodus 3:3 (ESV): “And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.“

Sometimes we experience magnificent sunrise that, unfortunately, we are too busy to enjoy. Today, I was blessed to enjoy the sunshine but the outdoor heat was another deterrent. Every sunrise is an opportunity to experience worship. Days are meant to declare God’s wonderful works. And every sunshine breathes grace and hope. We must never allow anything to deter us. Yes, whether amid vacation and travels or right amid our busy days, the beckon of the sun is a glimpse of God’s goodness and an invitation to worship.

We sometimes pay attention to the heat, and we miss the sunshine. These are places in the walls of the universe where heaven’s handwritings are clear—take time out: stop and reflect on God’s love for you. Moses did not likely read Psalm 19:1, but he understood how our great gaze of God's beautiful world Invites us to something deeper than an amazing natural phenomenon, or magnificent beauty, but to spiritual awe that Spurs us to immediate thoughts of God.

We have a great spiritual lesson today from Moses. We must never again take a fleeting glance at events around us. Today’s heat and the Sun may be as good a voice of God as those days’ bush that was burning but was not consumed. If Moses had ignored it and hurried on to his busy journey, we may not be here today talking about it. He had those sheep to take care of; yet he did not miss his golden, life-changing encounter with the living God.
