Today’s Text: Proverbs 6:6-11

Key Verse: Proverbs 6:6 (NIV): "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise.”

While godly wisdom is rooted in Scripture and sought through prayer, Christians should not overlook the day to day lessons unfolding right outside our front or back yard. We may need to ask God for eyes to see His principles in the natural world, and we shall take every chance to grow in understanding, both inside and outside our household.

If you’ve ever battled ants in your kitchen, you will agree that they are stubborn. But they teach great lessons to anyone struggling to stay on course. Yes, those tiny creatures are determined. Their resilience inspire. That is why the Bible points to them as something that people should admire abd learn from; especially when it comes to readiness, preparation, cooperation, perseverance, diligence, and unity.

Take time each to look at ants and other created things and you will learn wisdom.  The world created by God contains bountiful evidence of His character, virtues and values. That was why Jesus directed His followers’ attention to the birds to teach the folly of anxiety (Matthew 6:25-26). Birds do not reap or gather grain but their food are supplied each passing day. God surrounds us with so much wisdom and blessed us with two eyes to observe the nature as they  demonstrate His providence and goodness.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, You are the God of love and life, restore us to your peace, renew us through your power and teach us to love all that you have created and to learn from the earth while we nurture it as your gift and our home.— in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
