Waxing Stronger in Boldness

Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, January 31, 2026

Todsy's Texts: Acts 4:29-31

Key Verse: Acts 4:31 (ESV) — “And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”

We have come to the end of January. What this means is that, to the glory of God, we have meditated on 31 "waxing strongers." Don't you see it matters to God to see us wax strong in every area?! You can therefore step foreward to another month with confidence and boldness. Indeed, you can wax very strong in Christian boldness. Boldness is Holy Spirit courage to declare truth. In a year of waxing very strong, timidity silences witness while boldness shakes atmospheres. To wax stronger in boldness is to pray for utterance when opposition mounts.

The boldness in focus here, in context of our text is the courage in preaching or proclaiming God's word to a lost world. It is the Spirit-empowered, courageous proclamation of the Gospel. It is characterized by clear, unapologetic truth-telling in the face of opposition, persecution, or social pressure. It balances conviction with love, focusing on Christ's resurrection and kingdom rather than human approval, often stemming from deep communion with God.

God answers bold prayers with Holy Spirit's power. Shaking precedes speaking. Waxing stronger in boldness this year means refusing religious respectability for Spirit recklessness. Boldness births church growth and kingdom advance. No true child of God will be timid. In 2 Timothy 1:7, the Apostle Paul reminds Timothy that the Holy Spirit does not produce fear. The fear mentioned in Greek refers to cowardice or timidity.

As believers in Christ, we have not received a spirit of slavery that leads to fear again, but rather a Spirit of adoption. The spirit of fear"is a tool of the enemy or a result of spiritual paralysis, physical and emotional trauma and multilevel dysfunctional patterns. No doubt, fear is not a gift from God. Today's text reveals how the earliest apostles prayed themselves into a bunch of bold proclaimers of the truth of God, in the face of trials.

True boldness grows when persecution threatens, just as the early believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God with boldness. To wax stronger in courage is to declare God’s truth without mixture or apology. There are souls waiting for your fearless witness and revivals depending on your daring prayers. This year, like the church in Acts, your boldness will shake places, release fresh fire, and birth divine movements.

When culture pressures compromise and fear seeks to muzzle the truth, cry out for the same boldness that filled the believers in today's text. They prayed, and the place was shaken; they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke God’s Word with fearless power. To wax stronger in boldness is to walk in the apostolic spirit that shakes foundations and advances the gospel. Your courage will ignite holy fire across regions, stirring revival and releasing heaven’s authority wherever you go.

Action Steps: Today, share your faith with one stranger or coworker. Pray Acts 4:29 aloud three times. Plan one bold kingdom move or step this week. Speak God's word fearlessly at every opportunity.

Quote for the Day: "Boldness shakes what timidity settles. As you wax stronger in courage, God will fill your mouth with kingdoms-shaking words." — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pra: Dear Lord Heavenly Father, grant Your servants boldness. Fill me afresh till atmospheres shake. Loose my tongue to declare Your word fearlessly. Let my boldness birth revival fire that will first change my life into a fearless follower of God, and then change my world for the glory of God. I ask all these in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
