Waxing Stronger in Consecration

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, January 12, 2026

Texts: Romans 12:1–8 (ESV)

Key Verse: Romans 12:1 (ESV) — “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Consecration is not just for preachers; it is the normal posture of every believer who understands mercy. In a year of waxing very strong, strength without consecration easily becomes distraction and mixture. To wax stronger in consecration is to respond to God’s mercy by placing your whole life on His altar—your body, time, dreams, desires, and resources. Consecration is not a moment at the front of a church; it is a lifestyle of daily surrender.

Consecration is therefore the intentional setting apart of your life for God’s use and pleasure. God’s call to present your body as a living sacrifice is not a call to loss but to purpose. Waxing stronger in consecration this year means allowing God to define what you do, where you go, who you walk with, and how you live. This begins in the heart, where you say: “Lord, I am Yours—entirely.” As this conviction deepens, it will show in your priorities and choices.

As your mind is renewed, you will discern what is truly good and acceptable in God’s sight. To wax stronger in consecration is to strengthen your refusal to be conformed to this age, even when conformity seems easier and more popular. Consecration will require you to step away from certain conversations, atmospheres, and compromises that dilute your fire. This year, consecration may lead you to fast more, guard your eyes more strictly, and invest more intentionally in spiritual disciplines. These are not mere religious routines; they are expressions of a heart set apart.

Be ready to see yourself as a vessel in God’s great house, choosing to be cleansed and ready for honorable use. When temptations arise to live carelessly, remember that consecration is your answer: “I am not my own; I am bought with a price.” When you slip into carelessness, consecration calls you back to the altar. Waxing stronger in consecration means fewer seasons of spiritual drift and quicker returns to focus and fire.

Action Steps: Today, pause and ask: “Lord, what area of my life have I kept off Your altar?” How have I allowed my form (behavior, style, choices) to become aligned or to come in line with an existing mold instead of living from a different, renewed pattern? Write down specific aspects—perhaps entertainment, relationships, ambitions, or habits. Present them to God in prayer, and choose one tangible adjustment that reflects your new surrendered posture.

Quote for the Day: “Consecration is not losing your life, but finding it in the hands of God. As you stay on His altar, you will wax stronger in purpose and purity.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for purchasing me with Your blood. I present my body, mind, and life as a living sacrifice to You. Separate me from everything that corrupts and fill me with everything that glorifies You. Let my consecration this year be deep, joyful, and consistent, and use me as a vessel of honor in Your house. In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
