2 Peter 3:17–18 (ESV)
Key Verse: 2 Peter 3:18 (ESV) — “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
Every new season in the Spirit calls for fresh measures of grace. The command to “wax stronger” in 2026 is not a call to self-effort or human striving; it is a divine invitation to deeper dependence on grace. Grace is not passive kindness; it is active power. It is not just pardon for the past; it is strength for the present and provision for the future. To wax stronger in grace is to live from the fullness of what Christ has already supplied, not from the emptiness of self-reliance.
Grace is the atmosphere of divine enablement — the breath of heaven empowering you to do what flesh cannot. When you grow in grace, you don’t just survive seasons; you transform them. Every spiritual advancement, every victory over sin, every step in fulfilling God’s purpose flows from grace at work within. Paul discovered this truth when he confessed, “By the grace of God I am what I am.” Growth in grace is therefore growth in God.
To wax stronger in grace is to continually enlarge your capacity to receive and respond to God’s divine supply. Grace flows best through humility, obedience, and intimacy with Christ. Pride resists grace, disobedience blocks grace, and distance diminishes grace. But a heart that stays yielded and teachable will experience increasing currents of divine strength. The strength you need for this year’s race will not come from striving harder but from leaning deeper — deeper into God’s grace, His Word, and His will.
The grace of God will grow where it is exercised. You strengthen grace by using grace. When you forgive freely, serve faithfully, give generously, and endure patiently, you are activating grace. This year will test your faith and patience, but every challenge is also a gymnasium of grace where your spiritual muscles grow stronger. Nothing wasted, nothing lost — every difficulty becomes a classroom where grace teaches, refines, and empowers you for greater use.
Be intentional to grow in the knowledge of Christ as well. Knowledge here is more than information; it is intimacy — knowing Him by revelation, not just reputation. As you abide in His presence through prayer, Word meditation, and worship, grace multiplies. Revelation fuels transformation. The more clearly you see Jesus, the more freely grace flows through your life.
The call to wax stronger in grace is not corporate only; it is deeply personal. It is God’s whisper to your spirit: “Come up higher. Receive more. Depend deeper.” As you yield, grace will expand your capacity, extend your influence, and establish your stability. You will find strength where others faint, peace where others panic, and joy where others despair. This year, grace will be your oil of strength for every assignment Heaven entrusts to your hands.
Action Steps: Pause and pray: “Lord, how can I grow in grace this year?” Identify three specific areas — perhaps patience, service, generosity, or prayer — where you will intentionally practice grace. Write them down as daily targets for spiritual growth. Cultivate humility and dependence on the Spirit through consistent fellowship and obedience.
Quote for the Day: “Grace is not just God’s gift to forgive you; it is His power to transform you. Grow in grace, and you will wax stronger in every place life once made you weak.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)
Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift and supply of Your marvelous grace. I receive grace today not in vain but with full surrender. Teach me to live daily by Your enabling power and to wax stronger in every grace You’ve placed within me. Let Your grace grow, guide, and guard me through every season of this year. May my life overflow with Your strength and reflect Your glory to all who see. In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, Amen.
