Today’s Text: Exodus 32:25–29
Key Verse: “Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.” — Exodus 32:26 (KJV)

Today’s threshing takes us to one of the most searching questions ever spoken in Scripture: “Who is on the Lord’s side?” Israel had sinned grievously by making and worshiping the golden calf while Moses was on the mountain with God. When Moses came down and saw the people’s rebellion, he did not call for political loyalty, tribal preference, or public opinion. He called for spiritual alignment. The question was not about emotion, association, or convenience; it was about covenant allegiance to the living God.
This question was asked in a moment of crisis, when God’s holiness had been violated and the camp had been defiled by idolatry. Moses stood at the gate because there are moments when silence becomes complicity and neutrality becomes dangerous. The sons of Levi answered the call and gathered to Moses, showing that belonging to the Lord sometimes requires decisive separation from sin and courageous identification with God’s truth. To be on the Lord’s side is to choose holiness over compromise, obedience over crowd pressure, and reverence over convenience.
This word still speaks powerfully today because the question has not changed, even if the forms of idolatry have changed. Many are tempted to stand with the crowd, but God still calls for a people who will stand with Him. Through prayer we declare our loyalty to the Lord, renounce every idol, and align our hearts with His holiness. And when we take our stand, God uses that surrender to restore order, renew consecration, and awaken spiritual courage in others.
Who is on the Lord’s side? It is the one who hears God’s call, rejects compromise, and chooses obedience even when it is costly. Today, it means separating yourself from every influence that pulls you away from God and stepping boldly into covenant faithfulness. God is still looking for a people who will gather to Him with pure hearts, strong conviction, and undivided devotion.
Action Steps: Today, examine your heart and identify anything that competes with your loyalty to the Lord. Renounce every hidden idol and make a fresh decision to stand for God’s holiness. Choose obedience even when it is unpopular. Let your life answer the question with a clear and courageous yes to the Lord.
Quote for the Day: “To be on the Lord’s side is to stand where holiness stands, even when the crowd chooses compromise.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Heavenly Father, I thank You for calling me to stand on Your side. Deliver me from every idol, every compromise, and every divided allegiance. Give me courage to choose holiness, obedience, and truth in every area of my life. Make me one who gathers to You with a loyal heart and a faithful spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
