Authorized to Represent Heaven on Earth

Daily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, September 10, 2024

Today’s Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:20 (KJV): "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God."

An ambassador is an authorized representative of a sovereign domain or ruler, who speaks on their behalf and interprets their mind faithfully to other rhelms and domain. As believers in Christ, we are His authorized representative, commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of His Kingdom. We have been given authority to speak on His behalf. Our duty is to faithfully and accurately interpret and convey His message, without addition or subtraction.

We speak not in our own name but in Christ's name, because we are representatives. It is our duty to faithfully convey the mind of the One who sent us to those he sent us to. As ambassadors, like Paul, we too must pray for boldness to proclaim the Gospel, acknowledging our role as ambassadors, urging sinners to be reconciled to God. This must be considered a great privilege, which must then call for our faithfulness to the terms of our commission. Let us begrateful for this privilege and be happy to represent Christ’s message to the world.

Action Step: Embrace this opportunity to serve as God's Representative as golden. Share God's love and reconciliation with others. Live in a manner worthy of your calling.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, O, how I thank You for finding me worthy as Your ambassador in a world that desperately needs Your love and redemption. I continue to trust you, Lord, to empower me, each day, to boldly proclaim the Gospel, and to live with integrity and faithfulness to Your Word as Your worthy representative. Please make me a true witness to Your grace and reconciliation — in Jesus's most glorious name. Amen.
