Complete in Him

Daily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Today’s Text: Colossians 2:10-15

Key Verse: Colossians 2:10 (NKJV): “And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”

Whereas the number theory has become popular today. People seek and plan towards lucky number. However, in the spiritual systems and realms, the number 12 is highly significant in both biblical Testaments (Old and New). Jesus' selection of 12 apostles was a deliberate representation of the 12 tribes of Israel. Symbolically, the 12 tribes of Israel and the apostles represent fullness and completeness. The number 12 makes 187 special appearance in the Bible. And, in the book of Revelation it was used to depict the authority and perfection of God's kingdom at the end.

Therefore, today being 12th day of the 12th month, God has a lot to tell us; not just about His sovereignty to choose the number 12 to be symbolic of His coming kingdom and dominion, but also to emphasize the completeness of the commonwealth of faith in Christ. While addressing the Ephesians, St. Paul had prayed that they might be filled with all the fulness of God, and grow into the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. But, here, he speaks unequivocally that each believer is already made complete  — i.e. made to be full, or to be whole, or complete in Jesus — soul, mind and body. Friends as long as you have the indwelling presence of the satisfying Christ, you are made complete. The philosophy of being complete in Christ should rightly guide and influence all our faculties and being. None of us should ever feel weak, inferior or wanting.

Quote for the Day: “Jesus comes for the whole person and makes us better complete in everything, needing nothing, and lacking in nothing."

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for proving your love for me by sending Jesus. I thank You for by His life and all His work which you ordained for me, I have been made complete and whole. Thank you for including me in Christ, forgiving me my sins, granting me his righteousness, making me complete in him — in Jesus’ name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
