Today’s Text: 1 John 4:7–12
Key Verse: 1 John 4:11 (ESV) — “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

Love is not about a day, no, not about a person. It is not humanity’s invention; it is Heaven’s revelation. God Himself is love—He is not merely loving—but Love in essence and expression. Every act of kindness, sacrifice, and mercy we give or receive traces its root back to Him. John writes not as a poet of sentiment but as a witness of Chridt's incarnation: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Divine love is Christ wearing human hands with us, walking dusty roads with us, and bearing the cross for our unworthy souls.
Therefore, deeper love is more than emotion—it’s imitation. “If God so loved us…” love becomes both our reason and responsibility. This is because love received must become love released. The test of true spirituality is not the height of our experiences but the depth of our affection for others. God’s love is perfected in us when it moves beyond thought to touch. Words of prayer must find hands of service; lofty worship must yield humble compassion.
Jesus’ command to love one another is not optional—it is our distinguishing mark. When He said that by it shall all men know that you are my disciples, He means that love is his only mark of identification and distinction. The early believers were not known by buildings, titles or travels: but by shared life of steadfast love. To love deeply in a shallow world is itself evangelism. Every forgiving act, every patient response, every unseen kindness becomes a sermon louder than words.
Beloved, on this day the world celebrates love in mostly misguided forms. Why not let our exoressions be exemplary! Why not let Heaven find in us a reminder of divine affection poured through human hearts. Why not let our faith express itself through deep, unwavering, unrelenting and unprejudiced love for others—a love that is unashamed, unselfish, unending. It is only when we love in this way that we love like God and live like Christ.
Action Step: Ask the Holy Spirit to make you a channel of God’s love today. Express His heart through one intentional act of kindness or reconciliation. Let someone feel the warmth of Heaven through your words and actions.
Quote for the Day: “The highest form of love is not found in places, power, podition, poetry or perfume but in people who carry God’s purpose into a wounded world.” — (Simon Olatunji, #qoutableqoute)
Let us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, Fountain of love and Giver of grace, fill my heart with Your kind of love—pure, patient, and powerful. Teach me to love beyond comfort, beyond reason, beyond self. Let Your love flow through me as healing to others. Make me a vessel of Your divine affection today and always. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
