Deeper in Faithful Witness

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Friday, February 13, 2026

Today’s Text: Acts 1:6–11

Key Verse: Acts 1:8 (ESV) — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

God has not called us to the kind of quiet invisibility that today's Christians and Church indulge in. No! He called us to Spirit‑empowered witness—living and speaking so that Christ is known. Jesus didn’t say, You will receive power to admire Me, have money, build mansions, and so on. All those things shall be added, but He said, “You will be My witnesses.” Indoor meetings, vigils, prayer mountains, learnings, revivals and conferences are useful, but nothing replaces the simple, priceless act of declaring Christ wherever we are.

Christ Himself is the secret of true witnessing—our Message, our Motivation, and our Might. In our strength we falter; in His, our words carry divine weight. Jesus defines witness in two parts: “You will receive power” and “You will be My witnesses.” The disciples wanted restoration and timelines; Jesus wanted testimony. They lacked platforms, yet the Spirit turned their witness into world‑changing momentum.

Faithful witness is measured not by polish but by obedience—sometimes God keeps us in a place longer because someone still needs our story. Peter’s bold sermon brought three thousand to faith. Stephen’s dying words stirred Saul’s heart. The scattered believers spread the gospel everywhere without marketing—just clear, courageous testimony. The more we witness, the less fear controls us; the more we speak of Christ privately, the more we stand publicly.

Quiet faithfulness often precedes public breakthroughs. As Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel… it is the power of God for salvation.” True witnesses have already settled that Jesus is worth confessing at any cost. Child of God, deeper living means witnessing as overflow, not obligation. When opposition rises, don’t retreat—speak as the Spirit leads. Let your life be a platform and your lips His instrument. Pray daily: “Lord, make me a faithful witness, not a silent observer.”

Action Step: Identify one person in your circle to share Christ with today—through kindness, a story, or Scripture. Ask the Holy Spirit for one open door and courage to walk through it. Be a consistent witness in “your Jerusalem,” trusting God to extend your reach as He wills.

Quote for the Day: “True witnessing is not the art of winning arguments, but the grace of lifting Jesus until hearts can see Him clearly.” — (Simon Olatunji, #qoutableqoute)

Let us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, Father of our Lord Jesus, and risen Savior, and Master, our Father. Please make me Your faithful witness. Deliver me from fear and self‑concern. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my life and lips testify of You. Open doors for Your Word and give me wisdom and courage to speak with love. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
