Go in the Strength You Have (Part Three)

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, May 13, 2021

Today’s Text: Judges 6:11-24

Key Verse: Judges 6:14 (HCSB) — “The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you?"

Why do we carry such incredibly undeniable divine strength in our lives and still do not know it? Are our weaknesses, fears and doubts not inconsistent with the promise of the power that is at work in us? These and many other questions fill our hearts today, butI we may find some answers if we look at Gideon’s example. St. Paul said: “everything happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come.” (1 Cor 10:11)

Like us, Gideon was walking by sight. The pathetic situation he and his household robbed him of the blessing of walking by faith. All he saw was the surrounding hosts that beseiged them rather the Lord's presence that shrouded them. Therefore, he doubted that "the Lord is with him.” And of course, if you disbelieve that God is with you, you will invariably distrust that your mighty valour too. The strength of our personality always rests upon our knowledge, or experience of God. Our inner strength define our faith and vice versa, We demonstrate enduring well-being and face things with correct attitude through the inner strength.

That the Lord is with us, does not mean that we are immune to the things that befall us; but the fact of God's presence is an amazing assurance of victory in whatever we face. Never allow doubt to ravage your faith. The Lord is with you; that situation notwithstanding. He is with you in all cases, and at all times. Therefore, there is no situation that you cannot bring under control; and no mountain you cannot turned through. Yours is in indwelling power of the Lord which makes us more than conquerors.

Quote for the Day: “It does not matter what is around us as long as God who matters is within us. (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Lord, please sharpen my eyes of faith, and my perception so that I may recognize my inner strength, in Jesus' name. Amen.

With all my love and prayer,
