Today, as we celebrate 4 years of Daily Scripture Threshing, we are also marking the 100th episode of our favorite God’s “Let” Diary. God is bringing another special spiritual feature and import of yesterday’s scripture to our attention. I am convinced that Jesus was out here to teach us that His miracles do not involve His having to give sight to a few blind men while millions of others watch; but sometimes, in opening the eyes of millions of people who are spiritually blinded to the truth through the blindness of a few men.

Like me, you probably have seen or met some physically blind folks, and amazed how much they can achieve by themselves, without sight or help of others. In today’s text, Jesus wants us to teach us a deep spiritual lesson from blindness. He wants us to know that spiritually blind people are more disadvantaged and pathetic than the physically blind. He is teaching us that the blindness of people who do not know the Lord or regard His laws was a worse antitype of physical blindness. When you let religious pride veil the deep darkness of your secret sin, be loud your odious lifestyle, and block your vision of God; even if you are a renown global leader, a professor of theology, or the pope himself, you are brought under the scrutiny and indictment of our Lord’s analogy of blind leaders of the blind.

Quote for the Day: "Morality plus religion plus theology minus Christ equals ignorance, lostness and darkness. Any life who finds Jesus finds the Light of the world that shines upon man’s heart, his pathway, and his world.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: O Lord, with you there is no darkness. Please illuminates our darkness and cause your light of hope to shine brightly through us to this darkened world, in Jesus name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,

Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
